Founded in 1988 by Daryl Keys, Industrial Drive Service, Inc. (IDS) is a trusted system integrator specializing in motion control and industrial automation. Built on a strong foundation of service and safety, IDS offers a full suite of solutions across four integrated business units: engineered control systems, wire harness manufacturing, drive service and repair, and component sourcing. Our Key Solutions group designs and retrofits control systems using Rockwell, Siemens, and B&R platforms—offering advanced capabilities in motion control, automation, HMIs, remote operation, and data monitoring. Our Harness Group manufactures high-quality wire harnesses, whether designed by IDS or our customers, and specializes in small batch production under 1,000 units. All control panels are built in-house and verified through factory acceptance testing (FAT) to ensure every system performs to spec.
IDS serves a broad range of industries including textiles, paper, secondary metals, plastics, agriculture, wire and cable, packaging, and mining—with all business units actively supporting the mining sector. We work closely with both OEMs and mines, and have deep expertise in mine hoist controls and underground applications. Our Service & Repairs division provides field support, preventative maintenance, and migrations for AC/DC drives and control systems, while our Components team sources hard-to-find parts and supports proper system sizing. With highly skilled technicians, electricians, and engineers, IDS delivers tailored, reliable automation solutions that support your operations from concept to long-term service.
